On Saturday, in Fayd's Fortress, the Guardians of the Soul of new and old gathered once again to re-forge the Sceptre of Souls. The shards of the original Sceptre of Souls were found by Annabel and Rathis Tarn. With Balthiir's help, Annabel conducted the ritual of re-forging. Brought together and held near the pool in the fortress, these pieces were showered by collective resilience and re-sealed. Finally, when completed, the Sceptre was given to Annabel for keeping.

Scepter of Souls

Our interviewer is a curious little Dreamseer, peeping in on meetings now and then. Returning to the Dream after some absence, she listens in on a Guardians of Soul meeting. To her delight, Sanctus and Subhash agree to tell the story of the Scepter of Souls.

"I think this will be good for many of you to hear, since it is part of the history of this group's founding... and I was the Guardian's first historian. Right around the time Isun formed the Guardians of the Soul, I had made a discovery of my own which led to the creation of the Scepter by a group of Soulmasters working together. That discovery was the Emerald Tome. In the Emerald Tome are written many ancient rituals which appeared to describe many ancient rituals which appeared to describe the means to create a scepter which could only be yielded by the pure of heart. I showed the Tome to the gathered Soulmasters, including Subhash here, and described what I had found. Isun, Ratheon, Subhash, Kia Ravenheart, Grayling, Watcher, and many others agreed to participate.

"We all trudged up Mt. Illapse... faded from the dream a while back, and are being refurbished... and entered the dreary Gloom Peaks. There, among the Glittering Heights near the top, we found what was needed. A stalactite filled with glittering gems which allowed the protrusion to be imbued with the power necessary for the Scepter to come into being."

While Sanctus struggled to maintain coherence in the Dreamstate, Subhash continued the story:

"Remember, we also had to use our Resilience... in other words FlameSear, to get the Stalactite. We saw that it was high up, and that none of us could reach it... so we used our Flames to burn its top and cause it to fall. And so it did, and Sanctus grabbed it up... We were told we must make it in the most purifying place... And so, thinking the only answer we could come up with is under the Lake of Tears. The Tome told us that each of the Soulmasters present must inscribe a symbol on it. I remember inscribing a book upon it, though it was a long time ago, it stood for the Soulmasters that use their knowledge to help others. I can't remember what everyone else put on it. I don't think Sanctus told you, but the reason for creating this item is to protect dreamers from any evil. "

Sanctus, cured of his difficulties, concluded the tale.

"We all had inscribed symbols meaningful to us, showing what it meant to us to be Soulmasters. It was an effort by many of the resilience focus from many houses and those of no house. Raetheon, who was a Soulmaster shaman, was able to call lightening from the sky, a useful talent this particular night. As Isun, Raetheon, and I dipped the stalactite into the pool in Fayd's Fortress, Raetheon called down the lightening which sealed the resilience in the Scepter. It became a tool of purity, able to banish any evil from Dreamers who were being controlled against their will. It was first used against the evil Tykoth, who actually stole the Scepter the day after it was made..."
