A Little Bardic Magic - Off the Cuff

What is the fate of one, is it determined by their fortitude, what they foresee, how clearly they speak, how well they mend in what society they live...

or is it the random flow of the cards, the luck of the draw, the hand that fate deals you, and that you must deal with.

Darion draws four cards as they float for all to see, The Magician, the Arch Priest, the King of Wands, and the Void.

What does the Magician see? Can he see what others only think of? Or does he hide his truth so that others do not see?

Such is insight, the element of air, the realm of the DreamSeer

What of the Hierophant, the old Archpriest? Does his words sooth the pains of those around him, or do they drawn them into a realm of false pretense that they cannot escape?

Such is resilience, the element of water, the realm of the SoulMaster

What of the King of Wands? Is his will to power a way to prosperity for his people, or for himself? Are his ways for the flock, or the shepherd?

Such is will, the element of earth, the Realm of the GateKeeper.

And what of the mysteries of the void? Through such clarity of nothingness, is serenity found, perfect harmony? Or is it merely the cacophony of the coming of true oblivion?

Such is lucidity, the element of fire, the Realm of the FateSender.

And yet... what bring this all together, how do we survive in this realm surrounded by the boundless chaos? How is this simple sanctuary of thought keeping us in these... forms?

Darion wills another card to flow out, it is of a sphere of water, with landmasses upon them.

And yet... what of this world that we as dreamers all have a part in? This city? This... new and fairly unfamiliar realm?

Darion turns the card as it is surrounded by swirling darkness and mists of the unknown.

How do I see you in these... bodies? Am I not sleeping? Am I dreaming in another plane, or a dream and nothing more?

Yet you are all here...

Such is the providence of DreamSoul, the giver of life, the Realm of the Dreamer itself.

We are creatures of mind, essence, and possibly soul...

And what of this shared dream we all have? This awakening?

With each answer, a new question, and each question, a new revelation, and each revelation a new answer, and the cycle continues.

Eternal, unbreakable, by everything, except the force of those who choose to forget.

Darion lets the cards shatter into shards of glass and evaporate into the dream once more
