Considered to be the health of an avatar, when it reaches zero, the avatar becomes a soulsphere.
DreamSoul is one of the five elements within the city that are a part of each avatar, and is thought to compose the majority of elements in every avatar, providing structure and durability to the body (much like Carbon in humans).
Some dreamers consider DreamSoul, additionally, to be the element from which all (or most) structures and items in the city are crafted.
