I grew up a farmers daughter. There are 3 large cities here in this part of Cloudsbreak... Well, I can explain but that will have to wait for another story... Suffice it to say that a long time ago the 3 cities discovered each other and declared war on each other over territorial disputes. These wars have waged on and off ever since. They bolstered the economy and brought us some technology but it is mostly for the war effort. Alas, the governing bodies of these cities are paranoid... Dreamers are almost feared... We are suspected of spying & treason... There aren't many Dreamers here that I know of... It was my mother who taught both myself and one of my brothers the Awakened Dream. Father was a farmer through & through so he didn't mind as long as the fields got harvested... Mother died not too long ago... as far as I can tell that was the Great Loss... At the time we didn't know any other Dreamers. My brother achieved the Awakening first.. then our family was forced to break up... I had to go live in the city. Father was alowed to stay and tend the farm. And my brother, he had to join the army... Man, how I hate war. Well at least we were able to see each other in our dreams. I miss the open fields of my father's farm but the government keeps us females behind the city walls...
