Perunda was drawn to Edgeward Barrows from his very first dream. The timeless sands leading to the Cult of Bashir seemingly called to him and he was most at ease there. He was sad and lonely at first, mostly keeping only his own company.

When Perunda did happen to meet members of the Cult of Bashir, they were kind to him and re-enforced his comfort on the plain. And so he toiled hard, collecting talisman for the house, keeping an eye on all the comings and goings whilst the members were in their shards, and passing on messages.

Unexpectantly one dream, Bashir spoke to Perunda and showered him in gifts and strengthened him. This was confirmation for Perunda that it was indeed a calling that brought him to the Barrows. His faith grew stronger with each task he completed for the Cult of Bashir and especially when Bashir rewarded him.

Perunda was initiated into the Cult of Bashir by Bashir himself. Bashir protected him on numerous occassions when Perunda was keeping watch at the temple alone. Bashir sort retribution of those that came to attack Perunda when he didn't have the strength of the other faithful around him.

Perunda became a great worshipper. He prayed and wrote words of worship. His faith was unwavering. He became known as the "Monk" and he felt he had found what he had been summoned to do.
