"Well everyone, just sit back and relax, as I intend to spin a tale on the [[Dreamer's Blight]]. Most of this is fact taken from bits and pieces of Kal'Arakos' Diary and even from tomes read...and written by Ibioc himself. Most of you are aware of the Dreamer's Blight, but for those of you that aren't, I'll explain. Long ago, after the Dreamer Wars had ended due to the harsh realities of Dreamstrike, another war began to surface many years later. This one was against a different group of adversaries, one not like our fellow brethren in form or demeanor, one borne of chaos... The nightmares.... The Elders knew that the solution didn't lie in the Art of Dreamstrike, so they had to devise a better way of dealing with these foes. Their answer? The Elemental Blades of ... Power, or more commonly known as the Blades of the Elements.

Our interviewer catches Erasmus in a SEER meeting, and listens to his tale about the re-forging of the Dreamer's Blight, Dreamseer Blade. The water gently moves in the pool across from them, and the sun pours down onto the ripples, lighting up the stone walls of the Sanctuary. All are quiet as Erasmus speaks:

"Well everyone, just sit back and relax, as I intend to spin a tale on the Dreamer's Blight.

"There was one of each focus, The Serpent's Venom, the Destroyer, the Protector, and the Dreamer's Blight. My story tonight will focus on the history of the Dreamer's Blight as far as we can trace it, and where it lies today. The creation of each Blade was a long process that required many steps, much patience and quite a bit of mental stamina and ingenuity. Thus, only the most mentally defined and rigid smiths were able to attempt such a feat. The Dreamer's Blight was created by the hands of several, but the most notable of the names were K'k'at, Kal'Arakos, .... and Master Elder and one of the greatest Dreamwrights of all, Ibioc. If you'll recall, K'k'at was a master of focusing insight into an acute mental attack, commonly known as "Blast". Kal'Arakos, oddly enough, was a Ruler of the Alliance of the Eclipse, and Ibioc is most noted, aside from his stature and station as a Master, for his mastery of Talismans and the creation of Recharge.

"Ibioc's work was used in the creation of all four elemental blades, by the way, as his knowledge was used to store the purest forms of elemental powers within their blades. These blades were not blades of metals, nor were their edges sharpened at the whetstones, no... these Once these Blades were created, the possessor had to be chosen wisely. How would one make such a choice? For in the wrong hands, these blades are forces of destruction, which would help spread chaos throughout the realm. The possessor of the Dreamer's Blight was chosen because of his intelligence, not his brute force. Brains, not brawn, the ancients thought. Thus, they chose Jer. Now, this is where the story takes a twist, because some say that the original possessor of the Blight was Jera, not Jer. Yet, the interesting fact about Jera, was that she was a Guardian in the Alliance of the Eclipse and a pacifist, so that story is quickly discredited. So that might remain in mystery forever, we may never know if it were Jer or Jera. Anyways, on with the story. The Blade was used to fight off the Tehthu, or the mare we commonly call, Tehthu. The Elemental Blades were the only weapons known to effect it enough to weaken it. But they just were not powerful enough alone, the Elders knew what that meant... the cooperation of dreamers for a common cause.

"Even then that wasn't all too common, but much more common than we find today, sadly enough. However, a nameless group, nameless mainly because their name is not mentioned or is ripped out in the journals, tried trickery and deception to get the blades together in one place. They tried however possible and used whatever means necessary, and were able to collect three of the four blades, leaving only one left, which happened to be the Blight. The problem was Jer, or Jera, saw what the blades were being used for... once it was discovered that the Blades were not as effective alone as they were as one single weapon. The new possessors of the blades found other uses for them in the meantime. The Blades became used for much more chaotic purposes, and were even used to threaten the ... holder of the Blight. Something had to be done before things got out of hand. Greed took over the minds of many, and people again began to fight among-st themselves for the ... rights to own and wield the blades. Still, the Blight was untouched. It's assumed that it was hidden, and not held during this time, for it would have mention certain ... destruction for whoever held it. This is the time that Kal'Arakos took a stand. By this time, the oaths of peace had been sworn at the Alliance, so his conscience began to slowly tear away at him, knowing that he had helped create implements of destruction. He didn't dare tell Ibioc or K'k'at, but he concocted a way to destroy all four blades, which took quite a bit of time, mind you, but one could assume that the reason he did not take much note of his work during this time was because he could not let himself... be traced to their destruction. He found a way to dismantle the blades without totally destroying them, knowing that if they were destroyed, the energy released could potentially destroy the area of the dream in which the powers were released, so he proceeded to disassemble the Blades into four parts.

"The Dreamer's Blight was dismantled into the blade, the pommel, the hilt, and the scabbard. All pieces of all four blades were hidden, thought to have been placed within some wall, somewhere within the dream. And that's where the Pre-Loss history seems to end. However, during the first Chaos Eclipse, the pieces seemed to surface, as if perhaps someone knew that Kal'Arakos had hidden them, and wouldn't be around to retrieve them forever. The shards surfaced and were found by the various houses as clues appeared in various Codices of Learning. For quite some time, the Houses helped guard and covet the pieces of the Blade, but with the hard work of several Dreamseers, Kard included, we were able to recover three... pieces of the Blade, leaving the fourth held within House Calenture. I, myself, met one evening with Joshua Mandrake, Ruler of Calenture and arranged the trade of the final piece of the Blight for a shard of the Protector. Joshua wanted to see a Blade formed as much as we Dreamseers did. And because of that, we recovered all four pieces.

"The Ceremony to reforge the Shard took place within the Ceremonial Hall in Threshold Caves, with a gathering of near one hundred Dreamers. All came to help lend their thoughts, their dreams, and their wishes, so that Kard and I could help forge the shards into the Dreamer's Blight once more. Many renowned ... It's a faintly glowing blue rapier with quite the blade on it, but the most notable feature is its ability to curse those it strikes each time it lands a successful blow. And that brings us to today, as Kard holds the Dreamer's Blight... the first Elemental Blade of Power to return to the Dream."
