Entry 101 - Keepin' It Clean
A short, stocky Dreamer enters the Museum. He looks about and pulls several clockwork devices from his pack. Taking care to wind and power each one he sets them loose. A small army of gnomes, rabbits, squirrels and other creatures bound, trundle and scurry off into the room. “Go on then git to it,” he says to his creations, with an affectionate tone in his voice.
They set off through the Museum, cutting down vines and pulling them away, dusting off the artifacts and making sure they are all in place. He walks about, making small adjustments to the displays.
“Durned shame if all this was lost,” he muses as much to himself as his army of clockwork gnomes and animals. One rabbit like device stops at his feet for a moment.
“What’s yer damage,” he says looking down, he sees the rabbit’s ear has become partially detached. He reaches down and sets it back in place with deft fingers, the rabbit chirps and hops off. The clockworks continue to clean up the room for some time. When one breaks something, it always returns to the Dreamer who makes some quick repairs on the spot. Once, a gnome brings a squirrel for repairs, the Dreamer looks it over and mutters, “It’s always the durned squirrels, sorry Jer-Gnome, gonna hae to take care o’ this one at the shop.” He puts the broken clockwork in his pack almost lovingly and looks at the one he called Jer-gnome, “Git then, lots to be done, not getting any easier now we’re down a bod!”
Jer-Gnome trundles off. The Dreamer continues to talk to the room, “Shame, all of it a shame. Reachin’ beyond’em selves. I cannae understand why.” He makes his rounds, finally stopping at one portal, the entrance to the Forgers Guild and he sighs, “Why need a whole guild when there is only one left eh?” A medium size clockwork gnome walks up and taps him on the leg, “Eh? Oh yer right I suppose we should go see em. The Ambassador gets a wee bit cranky ifn she doesn’t get her afternoon nap on time.”
