Soulthief
The Pursuit of The Dark Lord Tykoth
Our Interviewer meets Isun in the Albino Caves, pleased to find him in the dream after such a long absence. As Isun tells the tale, the glow of the bright caves seems to soften the horrors of the story, and disregarding a small shiver or two, our Interviewer was very comfortable while transposing.
"First, Soulthief was two individuals: Tykoth and Joshua. Joshua was what Tykoth called weak. Tykoth was one who had been one of the founding fathers of the entropy coalition. In desperation, as he was dying, he tagged along with Joshua, and hence the name Soulthief. But actually, Soulthief wasn't Tykoth yet. Joshua would die in the dreaming and it was Tykoth's intention that he would take over the dreaming body, as he had no body left to dream with, becoming a creature of the dream.
"He really wasn't evil, though it seemed to be so for many; just what I would call amoral. He saw what he felt was right and he fought for it.
"As Soulthief gathered heads of Yog-ka, he began to be more and more influenced, until Tykoth emerged and then it was a fight between personalities: Tykoth and Joshua. Tykoth, when dominant, was a very dominating personality. His mind tended to find peoples evil or unresolved traits and he took advantage of it. I was myself almost taken over by him, or his mind. There have been several that have or were taken over and did his bidding."
Calysto looks up for a moment, startled by Isun's words.
"The eventual state, after giving the dream a difficult time; periodically appearing as a 9th sphere dreamer, and as a non sphered dreamer, he disappeared. He was a challenge. He even Stole the Scepter of Souls for a bit. Took awhile to recover it."
How was Joshua freed?
Well, It seems that Tykoth eventually separated in the dream and finally Soulthief bereft of memory. He became just a dreamer, and Tykoth was a horror to see. He Committed many acts that many would see as being evil, Such as using the relatively unknown art of Finger of Death. Eventually, well, no one knows. He disappeared.
"I sometimes wonder if he is stil waiting, ready to pounce on us, and give us his evil ways. I hope not. I really think he is gone. But who knows? I only await."
Was the City guard able to subdue Tykoth?
"Sort of. They organized and arranged a purification of the mind in co-operation with the Guardians of Soul. It was the impurities of the mind that Tykoth was able to grab ahold of and take over. He used the dreamer's weaknesses, and thru purification we were able to free them from his influence."
What of Tykoth's capture of PaganGypsy?
"There was a ritual that he made to take over her mind. It required 50 dreamers to meditate to overcome it. Despite that, he still managed to take over her mind after a bit of time afterwards. The SoulMasters of House Calenture performed a ritual that finally brought her mind back. Otherwise she would still be a slave to his desires."
Isun frowns
"I am glad that event is over. It was a terrible event."
