Kalelle
Story of the Blade of Kalelle, and of it’s forging, and current whereabouts.
The blade of Kalelle, grand GateSmasher of the GateKeeper, was the last blade forged by Renrut Nek before he passed on to the Overlight. It is a blade of legend and of a warrior of House Calenture, Ruler Kalelle. She was perhaps one of Calenture’s most skilled and deadly warriors in the cause of banishment of the nightmares. The metal was bathed in the waters of the eight planes and then heated in the fires of the Chasm of Souls, then pounded and sculpted with his hammer and tongs. On the last strike of the hammer, when the blade was ready to be cooled and finished, the hammer broke and Renrut was injured as a result… he never forged another blade after that. When he finally gave it to Kalelle, his arm was in a sling. She looked at Renrut with concern but accepted the blade, saddened to hear that he would never forge another blade ever again. Kalelle herself was no longer a young woman, but you needed to look at her hair and in her eyes to tell that she was in the later stages of life, instead of a woman in her 20’s or 30’s. She had a small scar on her face from her first duel in House Calenture in the blade, and never lost a duel after that one. She eventually rose in the ranks of House Calenture to that of the rulership, Master Teacher of Gatekeeper and that of the eighth sphere. She also gave birth to one child, Alain… who was raised in the ways of House Calenture. Yet the great mistress of the blade was unprepared for what was to come. Though she was well defended against combat arts, she was vulnerable to cunning, and death. Agavadon hated House Calenture for what they were trying to do to the Entropy Coalition, an organization once in the dozens now only numbering less than 10. Vex concocted a plan, which he discussed with a young Darkmare named Kalgrek. Grinning with fangs of darkest black, Kalgrek agreed to the plan, and proceeded to launch an assault on House Calenture with the new Darkmares, T’kkar, Toleth and the elder, Xegoth. Kalelle was alerted to the assault and jumped into the fray… lesser nightmares were also summoned into the fray, but single strike from her blade defeated even the strongest of the lesser mares, even the Shambli fell to the power of her blade after three strikes. Toleth, then T’kkar, then finally the mighty Xegoth fell to her blade in an almost unparalleled display of skill and power. These four Darkmares inflicted heavy casualties on House Calenture… then Kalgrek who challenged Kalelle to combat and ran off, chortling, and insulting her. Enraged, she charged after the Darkmare, until they reached Threshold Way on Evernight… where she was greeted by ten figures in black hooded cloaks. These figures assaulted her with arts she had never seen before… collapsing her in rapid time… the great blade fell from her hand… Agavadon gathered dark energies in his hands, and dreamstruck Kalelle from the dream… killing her in a heartbeat. Her echoing scream was an incomplete curse against the Entropy Coalition. Renrut Nek appeared and the dark warriors of dreamstrike fled, not wishing to face the elder master. He saw the great blade and the soul essence, and he realized what was done… he gathered the blade… and proceeded to a yet hidden location in the dream. The portal to this place remains sealed to this day, for when Renrut gathered a few of his creations, he then dropped them into this place, which was later known as Renrut Nek’s Tomb… since he then in-canted an ancient ritual… sending his soul forever into the OverLight. Still… there is tale of a Guardian that appeared shortly afterwards, for the Elder Master, Tria’hn Jianti was found, his soul literally seeping out of his shattered avatar. When asked what he had found… Tria’hn responded, “Renrut Nek’s Tomb”. When asked what happened to him, he responded only one word, before his avatar failed and his Soulsphere literally fell apart before them…
