Interview Questions for Underlightwiki.com

1. Question for Lycaon, Technical Lead: Since your eye surgery a month or so ago, how has your sight been treating you? Hopefully all is healing well.

Lycaon: The surgery was a preventative measure against further damage. It actually DID some damage, but the alternative was going blind. Since the surgery I've become horridly light sensitive, and I have multiple semi blind spots that thankfully do not overlap (so I don't literally see black spots in my vision).

2. Question for Pyramid, Public Relations/Roleplay Team: I've noticed some new faces around in IRC chat. First, I want to say congratulations on your new position. How did you become part of the Game Master team?

Pyramid: Python, Pylon, and I make up for the most recent additions into the Shades of Truth project on the Technical, Teaching, and Roleplay Teams, respectively. Each of us was selected during the application process by our respective leads based on our skills, talents, and/or experience.

3. How will updates/expansions be handled when that day comes? Are there already talks for significant future updates?

Updates and/or expansions will be handled similarly to most if not all MMORPGs, via a patch system.

4. In the latest press release, we were able to get some pretty good insight on what a few arts will be like at game launch. To further scratch this surface, will most of these arts still carry the same names?

Most, but some have been changed.

5. In terms of game content, will any new nightmare models/house textures be added to give a feeling of newness to the returning dreamer?

In Underlight: Shades of Truth, returning players will experience a great deal of new content in different ways. Changes will vary from subtle little things to more visible surprises along the way as dreamers explore the City of Dreams.

6. Are there any other art changes that you might be able to share with Underlightwiki?

The Shades of Truth GM Staff has been revealing hints about new arts changes on IRC as well as on the general forums located on www.shadesoftruth.net. We will continue to give out hints every day between now until the launch of Underlight: Shades of Truth on Friday, October 12 th at 9:00PM Eastern Standard Time.

7. In response to a statement in the press release, it was mentioned that not all dream room names were changed due to the amount and time at hand. Have any of the special room names that honors past dreamers been preserved?

Since then, we have had a breakthrough and are now able to change room names with ease. We have changed the names on nearly every room that had something to do with the previous version of Underlight.

8. Will the client UI undergo any sort of visual or style changes before it is released?

Not at this time, but rumor has it that may change in the future.

9. In the eyes of the returning Underlight dreamer, what will make Shades of Truth's dream stand out from its predecessor?

There will be differences in everything from the environment, to the arts, to the very house and teaching systems that determine how 'Underlight: Shades of Truth' runs. For all intents and purposes, the only real similarities beyond basic mechanics that it will have with our predecessor is that:

A) It is a city of dreams

B) There is enforced roleplaying, and

C) Players have a major hand in what does and will happen.

10. How will Underlight: Shades of Truth fund itself?

Out of the pockets of the lead GMs as well as players and GM staff that choose to donate money to upkeep the project.

11. This question is about the user interface client. Is there any change of plans with modifications to the UI for wide screen monitors?

Not at this time.

12. If the old idea of paid player mares is being eliminated, could we see something in the future along the lines of spending rare PP points for Day Mare time?

At the moment, we have placed the P-mare (Day Mare) system on the backburner. We will address this issue sometime after the initial launch of Underlight: Shades of Truth.
