Entry 105 - River's Story
Though it seems as if she would have been long forgotten, she never was. In fact, she's so known in her city, that there are things named after her. Her story goes way back, back before she was even born. Her mother was well known, and so was her father, or so she thought that's who he was to her. Truth be told, she was born from adultery. As time went on and the city became aware, and her mother was stoned to death. This is just the beginning of the many holes left in her heart as she would never recover.
When her father, the king found out. He disowned the young girl right away. She was cast out of the city and forced to go live with the man that her mother had committed those acts with, only to learn in later years by her own opinions that her mother was never involved with him by choice, and most definitely not out of love. Because who could ever love a man as evil as he?
She was locked into a small tower; beatings day after day would be the only time, she saw anyone. All she could see looking out through the top of it each day was the sun. The sun became her only light, her only hope. For one day she would escape that place, and so she did.
Her escape was no small feat and was incredibly magical. See, over time the sun began speaking to her, it would call out her name "River". She would kneel to it, and thank it for survival, and pray to it for freedom. One day long after she had continued prayers, the sun shown brighter than she had ever seen and shown right above her. The light lifted her to her feet, it gave her the strength to climb through the small opening and she never looked back again.........
