Entry 27 - Fragments of Hope

It began as a series of skirmishes. I was still a 'newly awakened' dreamer embracing all the City had to offer with anticipation and hope to fight along the great dreamers of the day. Each of the houses boasted legendary dreamers, warriors and scholars alike. It seemed at first like unconnected events - just chaotic beasts launching attacks that seemed without purpose or clarity. We learned to late that we were being tested and we failed horribly. Tzayak and his brood had taken foothold with in the City and an even stronger chokehold with in the houses. One by one, they fell, their portals seemingly closed forever.

The Alliance was shattered. The Entranced succumbed. The Protectors were extinguished. The Light was dimmed. The Union became divided. The Order ceased. Calenture was vanquished. And the Keepers were silenced. It all seemed like a terrible nightmare in which we were trapped. Our legendary dreamers vanished without a trace leaving us to fend for ourselves. For years, we waited in anticipation for any sign of their return. Many years passed and the populace lost hope. The great houses were left abandoned and forsaken as a reminder of our failure. Or perhaps to honor the memory of our heroes, our friends, and our loved ones. It has been almost a decade...

Now the Vanguard and the Templars have escalated their war in pursuit of the fragments which promises to unlock the portals of the strongholds once again. The Idoaclesians have also thrown their blades into the war to obtain the fragments of powerful artifacts. With recent events in the Provenance and the approaching dangers within the Rifts, the Dream will be witnessing a clash like never before....

What would the great dreamers of yesterdream do if they were here and what will become of us and our City?
