Entry 55 - Of Cities Lost...
Madame Sabriela,
I hope my words find you in good spirit and health. I continue to lament the loss of Furyan although their people are determined to retake their city back from the Arretian occupation. We have begun to explore the ruins of Idolacesia, however, it brings me great sadness to see her in such a state for very little remains of my home. Yuriqali has joined us as an adviser for the duration of this expedition.
Also, we encountered a curious dreamer from Kurenai. We have heard legends of the Kurenaiians. They are a proud culture of warriors fiercely protective of their city and their ideals. In our brief conversation, he spoke with unrivaled pride of Kurenai. I may wish to visit with their permission once this entire war comes to a conclusion. The Kurenaiian informed us of the Vanguard's approach upon Underlight. They appear to have set up a perimeter nearby and keeping fierce guard against Sir Xun'rok's potential advance against them.
We have not sighted any Arretians accompanying the Vanguard although the Kurenaiian witnessed some of the Vanguard's men searching for something with some kind of devices in hand. They may be attempting to find a weakness against the spell that conceals Underlight at present. There is indication suggesting that a former member of the Consortium is behind the spell concealing Underlight but we have no way to know how long they can sustain it under the Vanguard's scrutiny.
The Shinarians have pledged their assistance alongside their Yaza mistresses. The Yaza Triad have begun to utilize their voices in unison to enhance the spell's effect. They will be guarded by their Shinarian warrior maidens. There is still one matter that troubles me - Bandaret. If one should ever discuss a 'wild card' - he is the wildest of them all.
As always, Madame Sabriela, I will continue to keep you informed.
- Tal'shiar of the Realm Watch
P.S. I have not seen Jasper in some time. I sense something is wrong. I hope he has not fallen along with the others. I will look into this further on my next visit to Underlight.
