Nature of Scrying:
Ethereal Wisdom:
Scrying, also known as Catoptromancy and also Enoptromancy, can be defined as, ‘divination by means of a mirror’. Scrying has similarities to what is known as a ‘Vision Quest.’ Once the link to The Shadow is opened, the Scryer often be comes the medium used in order to impart the ethereal messages of wisdom and guidance from The Shadow or The Source.
Balancing Force:
The actions of the Scryer are associated in by the works of a manifestation of The Source called The Shadow. This force acts as a counterbalance to the connections of the conscious mind and the realized state of the dream. Once The Scryer opens the channel and begins to act as the medium of this divine channel, The Shadow
Role in our Dreamscape:
Guardian of Dreams:
The Shadow protects the sanctity and integrity in the Visions of Scrying through the link of the divine channel to the subconscious mind of the Scryer. Once the channel is opened and the vision displayed, the Scryer gains heightened awareness in his perception, intuition, subconscious thoughts and translation in what the vision entails.
Source of Insight:
A Scryer, utilizes a medium such as water, smoke, fire, or a mirror as the means to open a channel to the divine. The Scryer calls upon The Shadow, asking it to grant visions of wisdom, understanding and guidance.
Cautionary Warning:
In this trance like state, the Scryer becomes susceptible to harm, such as physical and emotional attacks. Most every Scryer experiences a temporary loss of one of the natural senses (sight, hearing, feeling). Some have been known to temporarily displace their emotions or empathy. All Scryers are susceptible to become fixated or entranced within a Vision and haunted by the things seen. The Scryer remains vulnerable through the duration of the divine link. The effects tend to linger for a time after the divine like is severed.

A vision Idoaclesians call "Scrying" took place in the Library.
The affects of which have already showing in our new city in ways unexpected.
The intent of this vision was to become more familiar with each others previous histories and why we are here together.
Most of the city gathered to see it.
Dreamers sent their focal energies to the pillars, and they rose, forming a bubble of energy. Using a "Lens", a vision was shown of an empty city.
As the vision went on, some dreamers tried to interrupt and destroy the focal bubble, while others openly declared those who were conducting the Scrying as summoning demons into the city.
Soon the vision went dark. Large glowing red eyes appeared into the lens and stared at us. Flames suddenly engulfed the room, damaging dreamers and shattering the lens.
Moments later, the pieces floated in the air, with those red eyes glowing in each shard - and reformed once more.
A thunderous voice harshly boomed "Kneel! Kneel! Kneel!" Many laughed at such a demand.
Then a final barrage of flames shook the Library, collapsing many.
The visions faded, but that was not the end of it.
A dreamer appeared compelled from this to drink a vial, going up the Edgeward path and coughing up blood. Was this a foresight of Bashir, or perhaps something Unknown?
