Xyn Rhade's Storytelling Event

on the 13th to 14th day of the second month of the ninth year

Prologue

Fri Feb 13 22:26:20 2009: Welcome back, Dreamer.

22:27:50: You have entered Cult of Bashir

Xyn Rhade: Alright, this area is the stage, in which the dreamer will tell his story. You can use your arts, practice chakrams, and blades, to aid you in your story telling. Try not to hurt the audience with wild shots.

Dogoda: what if hurting the audience is part of the story??

>Dogoda grins

Xyn Rhade: Using them to add the screams is fine, but don't collapse any.

Bane: The audience reserves rights to hurt the teller in return, one thinks.

Xyn Rhade: I would think so as well.

Dogoda: one disagrees

Xyn Rhade: So keep that in mind. After all dreamers have told their stories, we will let the audience vote on the best tale.

Icarus: what kind of story can we tell?

Xyn Rhade: I would like to hear a true story of your past in the Dream, but any tale will suffice. And please do not make them overlong, as we do not want to make this competition any longer than necessary. I shall start off by telling a tale, which cannot be voted on.

>Xyn Rhade steps onto the stage, and takes a deep breath

Xyn Rhade: This is a tale of my first dreams, from my entrance to my cresting at the Emancipators stronghold.

>Xyn Rhade changes his clothing to reflect a memory

>Xyn Rhade walks around the stage looking wide eyed

Xyn Rhade: As I entered the dream, I found myself among st a huge battle. At which point I met Bortami.

>Xyn Rhade imitates Bortami's voice, "Hello, dreamer. Are you with me or against?" Um, I am with? More fighting.

>Xyn Rhade continues in Bortami's voice, "Ah, good then. Follow me!"

>Xyn Rhade simulates entering portal after portal

>Xyn Rhade looks wide eyed as he makes his way through windy twists and turns

Xyn Rhade: I followed Bortami to the Sect Stronghold We enter the portal, and I was awed by the structure.

>Xyn Rhade stares around in awe

>Xyn Rhade speaks in Bortami's voice once again, 'My name is Bortami, and I am the ruler of the Sect of the Prudent." What is your name dreamer?

>Xyn Rhade switches place and speaks, "I am Xyn Rhade. What is this place?"

All in good time, my friend, but first, let's bring you into the family.

Xyn Rhade: At this point, Bortami walks out with the Prime.

>Xyn Rhade take a place, emulating the holding of the Prime

>Xyn Rhade speaks in Bortami's voice, "Xyn Rhade, you have heard our ideals, and express a wish to join the Sect of the Prudent.

Do you vow to follow our ideals, without question?"

>Xyn Rhade returns to his voice, "Yes, I do."

Then I welcome you to our family,

>Xyn Rhade crests Xyn

>Xyn Rhade hops up on the ledge, "All was well for a time."

Xyn Rhade: I will end it there.

Xyn Rhade: That is one way you can tell your story. Or, you can just tell it as as if you are reading from a codex.

Competition

Ash's Story

Xyn Rhade: Who will be the first to tell their story?

Ash: I can. If no one else wants to.

Xyn Rhade: Will you need a chakram or blade??

Ash: I'll take a chakram It couldn't hurt!

Ash: Well, this is the generally unknown story of an attempt to overthrow Bortami and Cuero, orchestrated by the late Sylas Prium. Sylas Prium joined the Sect of the Prudent after Kira Windveil was elected ruler of the Emancipated. He, however, did not share the Sects beliefs. He despised Kira Windveil, and his hatred fueled his ambition to make his own house, and destroy what he felt had betrayed him.The Sect was ruled by a Cuero, and Bortami. Bortami was the Acolyte, Cuero was the.. Ah, leader of the military arm. I cannot remember the title. But anyway, these two were quite openly fighting. At the time Sylas Prium joined the Sect I knew him a bit. We found after a short time we worked well together, and our goals were agreeable. Sylas Prium informed me of his goal to overthrow both rulers because, like me, he thought they were both incompetent. This lead to a very strange twist of events... Sylas Prium gained quick favor with Bortami. This alarmed Cuero, as Bortami was clearly courting Sylas as the new ruler. Cuero's position in the house. As such, Cuero began trying to find ways to get Sylas Prium removed from the house, using the house tenants which, for the record, Sylas Prium openly spoke of as a complete joke. And, our house Seneschal, Igteus. The key to success for Bortami or Cuero. I took on the role of Cuero's best friend, since Sylas had gained the support of Bortami. One night, Cuero informed myself and Tadeu, another member, of his plan to demote and Dreamstrike Bortami the next day. After meeting with Sylas Prium, we felt the easiest path would be for me to have Tadeu tell Igteus what he was up to. This was easy, as Tadeu was not really loyal to Cuero either. So either way, Cuero or Bortami could be used to overthrow the other, but most likely Bortami. This is because Bortami had told Sylas privately he could have Dreamstrike. And bortami would give up the ability to him. Sylas planned to use Bortami's ability to kill him. Cuero was thrown out by igteus for not following proper procedure to remove his co-ruler, and Sylas replaced him. In the end, however, the shift of this varient saved Bortami's life Just as it took Sylas Prium's. If the variant shift had never happened, they probably would have traded places. That's my story. Thanks

Ash: Oh yeah. Everyone was collapsing each other during the entire time.

>Dogoda screams

Ash: The end.

Bane's Story (The Winner of the Competition!)

Xyn Rhade: Bane, you are up next.

>Bane steps over to the ledge and sits down, hanging his feet off the ledge over the surface of the pool.

>Bane reaches into his pouch and pulls out two small pebbles and mutters as he sits one of the pebbles to his right and holds the other.

Bane: This is the story of a death. One is going to tell most of it from the third person as telling it from the first person would be very difficult to understand. There are events which are focal points. These events have the power to shift tides in the dream. They shift power, alliances, and lives.

>Bane holds the first pebble up and mutters.

Remulus, the Dreamstrike Master, sat with Ash of the Orgoth. The Dreamstrike Master believed in Balance. He saught that balance and feared the Tribunal of Solara were growing too strong. To stem this tide he had to kill the Woman in White, one who's name was known to only one, her lover. He believed that Ash and the Orgoth could aid him in this goal so he enlisted their help. He did not tell the Orgoth of his plan and the Orgoth had plans as well that were untold. Remulus, in order to balance the tide, marked the Woman in White for death. With blade raised and ire in his voice he slashed the pristine face and left it marked for all to see. This is the pebble of Remulus and the Orgoth.

>Bane sits the pebble beside him to his right and picks the other pebble up before muttering.

The Woman in White sat inside the halls of the Tribunal of Solara alone. She knew what was coming and knew she could not stop her death. She did know, however, that the bearer of her true name and her forbidden lover could. She knew that Remulus would take her lover for he would balance the scales as well. She also knew that Remulus would enjoy taking one that was so close to her. The Grand Master Teacher of the Tribunal of Solara entered the room and the Woman in White turned her face, hiding the scar. She did not wish him to know, for she could not have him lost. The two walked into the meeting hall of the Solara and into a meeting between Bane and Kira Windveil. The two forces fell upon each other there, in the vally. The Grand Master Teacher did not fight for it was a suicide. The battle raged. Soon it was only Bane and Kira Windveil of the Solara against the full might of the Orgoth. Kira Windveil fell and the Dreamstrike master started evoking the fell art. Bane, seeing this, rushed to stop the evoke. He pushed once, twice three time with the weight of the Orgoth pushing upon his back. Then from behind, an Orgoth stuck with a Curse chakram. A push failed, the fell art landed. Bane turned to see the Soulsphere shatter and a soul essence hit the ground. As he reached for the essence the dream shattered. A top a cliff in the Valley a hooded figure tapped the hilts of her twin blades and sighed before stepping, unseen from the room.

>Bane nods simply and mutters.

That is it.

>Bane stands up and mutters as he walks back across the bridge.

Anubeion's Story

Xyn Rhade: Anubeion, would you please take the stage.

>Anubeion clears his throat and nods

>Anubeion removes the chakram and places another in its place before him

Anubeion: We've heard tales of great battles and yet that is not all of the dream, or so it seems.

Many of you know that I have only begun to dream, So I have no memories as such to share that are not mere days past A few of you know that my dream is all that I have, because of my state. . . and that I blink from one dream to the next, unlike you who wake.

However, of late, it seems there are dreams between my dream, flashes of lives not my own. So, I will recount one: the story not of battle, but the story of a love.

>Anubeion picks up the chakram and replaces it

The scene is the Lost Caves and there are two dreamers peaceably dreaming and genning, trading friendly insults; both members of the Trinity Stronghold, it seems, from their crests. When a third dreamer arrives, dressed in azure with night skin and hair, she hails the first dreamer as Magnilia and they fall on each other as long lost sisters. This dreamer introduces her to her partner in crime, Serros, and calls her Shadowpet. Banter ensues and the passing of happy time.

Serros noted the collar adorning Shadowpet's night hued neck, the moment she arrived, but, He said nothing of it until their parting when he complimented her on how well she wore it. Secretly, however, Serros already coveted it replaced with his own.

And thus begins a love story, unending.

>Anubeion smiles

However. . .that was the end of the glimpse I got.

>Anubeion bows

Dogoda's Story

Xyn Rhade: Is there anyone else to tell a tale?

Dogoda: i suppose i will go now if that is alright??

>Dogoda nods and sits down on the ledge and dangles his feet over

This will be short sadly my memory was never that great. i came into this dream very young and alone. i came across a man with red skin who helped me and showed me around. i was taken to his house where i instantly fell in love with just the sight of it. i heard of the beliefs of all the houses and decided i wished to join the house with the man with red skin. some time later i came across a woman with dark hair. she seemed bothered for some reason and then she began to attack the members of my house. i fought with them she was very strong and hard to take down. this happen on various occasions. on one particular which i will never forget the dark haired woman used the fall art to kill are then guide. she continued to kill and eventually she was gone for some time. things happen and i left the house. i was later adopted and began to realize instead of fighting what kills us that we should help her and see why she does what she does one day on top of the valley i came across a man she stood next to him and did not look very happy. i whispered to her to see what was wrong. she said to me "the man next to me controls my soul essence." i asked her if she was forced into her wrong doing. she nodded slightly and whispered to me "i am sorry for what i must do" she then collapsed me. i returned only to tell the others of what was happening and to get as many as i could to fight this man who could kill her at any moment. we all fought the best we could but we were no match. later another dream she came to me she said she was not going to be around as much. i still look for her to this day.

>Dogoda smiles

Epilogue

Xyn Rhade: And to end the competition, I shall tell one last tale.

>Xyn Rhade hops up onto the ledge and sits down, hanging his legs from it.

'Tis not a tale of the past, nor of the future, but one of a tragedy, pulled from the depths of my mind.

>Xyn Rhade watches all dreamers for a moment before continuing

Endara was a courageous young lass, you valued all life more than her own.

>Xyn Rhade coughs, "who valued.'

It happened on quiet dream, when she was the only one dreaming. Seemingly from out of nowhere, she became surrounded by beasts.

>Xyn Rhade spreads his hands wide

There were Cro'ats, snakelike beasts, and Mxrndo's, winged creatures of great power. She stood her ground, "Come and get me you fouls beasts.", she screamed. Beast after beast came after her, and each one fell before her viciousness. The battle ensued for what seemed an eternity, but at last she was victorious.

>Xyn Rhade takes a moment to glance around

With one last effort, the last Mxrndo poisoned Endara, depleting her Dreamsoul at an alarming rate. She was out of elemens, and her meditation was not slowing the poison. She did not realize that her art of Recall had already expired, leaving her a Soulsphere, far from Sanctuary. Thinking that she was the only one in the Dream, she started toward the nearest Sanctuary, three planes away. She soon found herself in a warded room, hearing a voice that she dreaded. Ylidon, the murderer, began evoking the fel art of Dreamstrike, while chameled. The last words that our valiant Endara ever heard were, "You're mine!!" And with that, Ylidon struck her from the Dream.

And that brings this competition to an end.

This last tale of mine will be turned into a one man play, performed by me, sometime in the near future.

Surprise

00:13:16: A thunderous clap echoes across the facade with a violent display of lightning arcs throughout a sudden darkened sky tearing it's fabric. A pink mist breathes and pulsates from the ground, teasing it's movement upward.

A Dreamquake ensues!

You suddenly lose your balance and stumble to recover...

Ash: Wait.... That mist.

Amara: That mist is all too eerily familiar...

Xyn Rhade: No, not Him!!!

The skies roar with thunder as another spectacular display of golden lightning smacks the facade, rippling a tremor throughout the plane.

A Dreamquake ensues!

>Tija blinks

Description of Tija: A petite, non-descript woman. She appears to be awkward, halfway between woman and girl. Her dark oak hair flows to her mid-thigh. She wears a plain silver ring on her left index finger.

>Tija looks down, and blinks

>Xyn Rhade looks up at the new arrival

Xyn Rhade: Greetings, dreamer.

Ash: That pink mist. The last time that appeared in this room....

Tija: This is interesting.

Zezima: What is happening?

Xyn Rhade: How may we be of service?

Tija: I don't require your service.

>Xyn Rhade watches Tija closely

>Queznay leans on tip-toes, adjusting his spectacles.

Ash: I think what he meant by "how may we be of service" is probably, "Who are you".

Tija: Or, more appropriately, I don't desire your service. It could be possible that your service might be required, however.

Xyn Rhade: My name is Xyn Rhade, and I would like to welcome you to the city of Dreams.

>Xyn Rhade bows slightly to Tija

Tija: I'm quite familiar with the City of Dreams, thank you.

Tija: However, this is not it.

>Tija nods succinctly.

>Anubeion smiles

Anubeion: Does your variant of the City of Dreams have a particular name, lady?

>Queznay tilts his head to the side, allowing a puzzling look to dominate his facial expressions.

>Xyn Rhade notices the halo for the first time, "A teacher. I do apologize, Teacher, I did not see your halo at first glance.

Tija: Variant? Exactly what in the hell are you talking about?

>Tija shakes her head, obviously perturbed.

Anubeion: It appears that there are a number of instances of the City of Dreams Some here have experienced several.

Tija: I'm glad you think so.

Anubeion: Bah. Gatekeepers.

Queznay: More importantly, who the hell are ye, and where the hell did ye come from, lass?

Tija: Most importantly, who the hell are you, that I should answer such a question?

Queznay: A Master of this place.

Tija: Very self-important, aren't you?

>Queznay glances around, before returning a stern yet apprehensive look to Tija.

>Laviticas eyes widen a bit at Tija

Xyn Rhade: I think she is of THIS Dream.

Anubeion: Well, she's here now.

Queznay: Self-important? More so protective, than anything else lass.

Ash: That pink mist before she appeared. That may be a strange coincidence...

>Tija raises a delicate hand, and smirks, "Look at me. Do I seem anything to be frightened of?"

Queznay: You are a Gatekeeper.

Queznay: So ...

Tija: Exactly.

Tija: So?

>Queznay mumbles as his words trail off.

Xyn Rhade: It seems to be a common thing for this plane.

Queznay: Forgive me, but it is not an everyday circumstance that one makes an entrance such as ye'self.

Tija: Well, I do like a good entrance.

>Tija shrugs plainly

Gnoramir: Don't ever travel with this one then.

>Tija raises her eyebrows, and looks up.

Gnoramir: He navigates horribly.

Queznay: Quite naturally. I barely found my way due to a choking pink mist throughout the Barrows.

Zezima: Good...we need another Gatekeeper Master.

Ash: Another?

Zezima: In all my time in the Dream ash, I have seen only two. Including Master Hoyt.

Anubeion: You both missed Xuatlas, Zezima and Ash.

Tija: I know Xuatlas.

>Amara clears her throat, "Knew, " she corrects.

Xyn Rhade: Master Xuatlas is no longer with us.

Tija: Don't correct me, Girl. When I speak, I speak correctly.

Icarus: i really liked her, she was a nice lady

>Tija glares at Amara

Amara: Ah, then perhaps you know of something we do not, Master?

Tija: That would be obvious.

Tija: And do not call me "Master." Do I look like a man to you?

>Amara tilts her head to one side, "As Xuatlas was apparently struck from this place, -Ma'am-.

Xyn Rhade: Mistress, then.

Tija: I met Xuatlas first, several nights ago.

>Anubeion nods as if confirming something

Tija: It seems I'll never see her again.

Anubeion: Yes, she was not struck

Tija: I shed many a sarcastic tear for that, let me tell you.

>Queznay seems slightly perplexed, clearing his throat to speak, "I am Queznay. Master of Lucidity.... ye met her several nights ago?"

Gnoramir: Calm your trousers, lad.

Anubeion: She was taken by the mare.

Tija: "The Mare"?

Xyn Rhade: A beast.

Tija: No, she ran. She was afraid.

Icarus: horrible monsters

Tija: And when she arrived, in what I only assume is the place I am from . . .

>Tija smirks

Tija: She was very quickly tossed into the divide in our city.

Tija: It seems she had some rather unorthodox appetites.

Tija: Good riddance.

>Tija nods her head rather decisively, "Good Riddance"

Ash: Can I change my vote on the story competition winner? That one was pretty good.

>Xyn Rhade chuckles at Ash's comment

Tija: Well, apparently I'm good at something.

Ash: No, seriously. I want to learn how to do that.

>Zezima laughs at Ash's comment

Tija: Thankfully, I don't give a pile of loaf if any of you believe me.

Queznay: Do ye have a name? I'd hate to remember ye by 'pile of loaf', lass.

Tija: This is my beginning. That's all that matters.

Tija: My name is Tija, friend. I don't know what else to tell you other than that.

Elle: Silly Gatekeeper.

Xyn Rhade: Greetings, Mistress Tija.

>Zezima jumps at the scream

Tija: Mind who you call "Silly".

Elle: Bane .

Bane: The one was not calling the Tija one silly.

Queznay: Tija. Alright.

>Bane laughs a bit while sitting down on the steps before muttering.

Bane: See what happens when one goes calling Gatekeepers names?
