A regal air surrounds this garden, the grass underfoot seeming lush and well-kept, nourished by babbling streams that weave throughout. Soft lanterns illuminate clean stone paths leading to five monumental shrines, silhouetted dark against a clear, starry night sky.

Location

The Citadel is locked to unsphered dreamers and can be accessed via Chasm of Souls or Threshold.

One room, The Nexus, contains marked portals leading to and from each of the house-associated rooms in Threshold, so may be used as a fast method of travel between them. The art Translocate transports a dreamer to this room from almost anywhere in the city.

Plane History

Link to the Past: The Citadel. by Valourin

Something happened in Chasm of Souls on Sunday the 17th of September, Year of Potential, in the Fiery Path. Now as you come in a lone portal can be seen across the lava on the left hand side. This portal leads to what must be part of the oldest structure in the Dream, The Citadel.

The Citadel was built after the Hall of Voices was, and was used to draw those that achieved the awakening to the City of Underlight. After that Threshold was built around it to protect it. There is speculation among some that it was much more than that, though no one knows for sure. One thing that seems for certain is that it was more than these 5 rooms, as the name implies an indoor structure as well as the mostly outdoors scenery of the first five to be recovered.

Any new plane is interesting, or old plane recovered in this case, but the incredibly interesting part of this plane is a structure that sits upon it. Temple like on the outside, it is a shrine to Gerriel Endeth on the inside, with a sculpture that appears to truly be a living Soulsphere. I have heard standing before it has an effect of increasing the amount of Dreamsoul that you recover in a certain amount of time.

One word of caution, the lava outside of the entrance, in Chasm of Souls, is not detrimental to Dreamers that walk upon it. So do not spend more time there than you must or you may find yourself in need of a Sanctuary to Restore your coherence.

The Shrines

Within each of the five shrines lies a pad. Standing on one of these pads allows a dreamer faster regeneration of a particular element. The approach, temple (or shrine), and sanctum of each are named as follows:
