There are three rooms in the City in which all the house symbols appear, The Master Hall in Threshold Pits, Boggens Lair /Bogrom's Lairand the Courtyard of Awakening. These rooms are symbols of hope and reminders of better times. It is even said that there are hidden portals in the Master Hall and Boggen's. What was their original purpose? I hope to answer that question.

Back before the houses were founded, these symbols existed, a prophecy as it were, of better times to come out of the wars and pain. Those that had faith in the prophecy and its symbols were able to use the hidden portals, in the Master Hall and Boggen's Lair, that were opened solely by their faith. They were able to glance into the future and see the houses that were to be built and prosper. These holders of faith became the leading minds behind the houses, their beliefs and their construction.

When the houses were being built, the faithful and their followers would find solace in the symbols and the portals that allowed them to see their futures. Once the houses were built, the faithful would use these portals to access the houses before the portals in the Threshold were constructed. Once the Threshold portals were built, the use of the original faithful portals had to be changed. The idea was to construct a plane in which discussions could be held in safety for those most faithful to their houses. They became the original portals the Chimeric. When the houses closed, the faithful would gaze at the symbols in the Courtyard, sending their faith and hope to their house. It is said that some of the most faithful were still able to enter the plane of Chimeric and discuss the future of their collective houses. Some tried to alter the portals in Boggen's to return to their original use, so they could help to repair their houses from the inside. Many different theories were tried, but all failed. The portals in Boggen's were closed.

They did not attempt such experiments with those of the Master Hall for fear of losing their one connection to their houses. But when the houses re-opened, the Master Hall portals closed, just like those in Boggen's. What had powered them was unknown. A piece of the City's history was lost forever. Many have forgotten about these tales of undying faith, of perseverance and determination and the gifts of prophecy and hope. The portals have been closed for too long, but are they any hope of their revival?
